Free Sunday Alas!

Today started ok...slept in a bit. Woke up, did some laundry. Was supposed to go to church after that but didn't. Yes I know I am wrong! Stayed back to complete my syllabus for my PH class on Tuesday. If I dont do it today, I know I have little time to do it on weekdays. I almost completed the dance choices but somehow got a bit stuck. Took a shower, got ready to go to MK to curi CD from Darcy hehehe :)

I sped or rather, drove fast to MK and the stretch after the Kerinchi Toll was always going at 80km. I guess thinking that it's weekend and what not, I went ahead of the speed because road was empty. Sigh right about reaching Science Centre (on my right), I saw police road block celaka....I know I surely won't be able to escape. Honestly it's the 2nd time in the month. The first time was a corner from USJ turning left to head towards Puchong. I was on the phone. I quickly dropped my mobile when I saw the police force but too bad kena again.

By right, my Christian sister already told me that I shouldn't have bribed. I just couldn't think to be honest. I was again in a hurry to go to a printer's office at Balakong. Anyways, enough said as that day turned out to be bad for me also. Back to today, I got stopped of course. I was preparing the pay the summon this time though it's going to be burn a hole in my pocket. When the police told me that I was speeding, obviously I nodded because I did! Like heck I can lie and said I did not! I gave him my driving license to prepare for summon and he asked how much I would like to pay since summon was going to be RM300. I told him to just fine me. I was just a bit stunned when he asked if I could pay RM50 and I said no as I don't have sufficient money to pay my bills later. He asked if RM30 was fine. He was in a hurry. For whatever reason after a short hesitation, I just gave him RM30 and shoved my driving license back to me. I can bet a lot of cars got it because it was unexpected. Oh well, a lesson to pay for! Trust me, difficult to stick to 80km/h on that stupid road!!!!!!! arghhh!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, I reached MK, burnt the CD and left for the office to do some work. Reached the office about 4:30pm and left about 6:45pm. Joined Darcy and Dato for dinner at Lake Club. We dined at the Chinese restaurant. Was initially planning to go somewhere knowing that the Chinese restaurant's standard is so so but decided to go ahead coz everyone was a little tired to travel. On top of that, Dato has a long journey flight the next day. We ordered 4 dishes (cod fish, butter prawns, vege, claypot chicken) + 1 soup. I sibuk took pictures of 2 dishes hehe....
Butter Prawns that were served with chips!!! rather odd..

Tasted like 'kung po chicken' only....a bit spicy

Singapore Singapore

This week ended pretty quick which was good as I was away for a meeting cum presentation plus also market visit the following day. In total, I was there for only 2 days. It was good as I missed going there on company trips and staying at Sheraton Towers!!!! I stayed alone which I really enjoyed.

The presentation was to Mediacorp, obviously the biggest and monopolist media owner I must say on our project so that they have a clearer understanding on the mechanics. 2 DJ's joined us as well to better understand what they should say. I saw this one good looking caucasian and asked the Malaysia representative of Mediacorp on who he was. She only need to start with saying that his wife is very famous, some actress name whom she forgot and my heart was broken hahaha!!! No la, dont break so easy one! Must emo emo a bit la ;) - blaming on CC where I learnt this word. Conclusion he's really good looking darn!!!
Anyways, the meeting ended with a tour around the radio station where the DJs are doing their work. It was really cool. It's like a big glass where they can see us and we can see them but they can't hear us. Imagine seeing through an aquarium though I dont know if the animals can hear us and of course there's no water involved.
We entered one room where there were 2 young DJ's, a girl and a guy called Shan Wee whom we have already planned to engage for our event but unfortunately, he's unavailable. He was quite good looking, a caucasian and chinese mix. It was really quite interesting to see how they do their work, DJing and talking ot each other. They are very resourceful too. During breaks, they actually do their homework surfing about gossips and updates. I happened to see Shan's screen on Victoria Beckham and both were talking about her later on. We heard them go live as well which was really cool.
The day ended well with a nice chill out session starting at 4:30pm with drinks all the way till night. I only had max 3 glasses of sweet white wine and was already feeling on top of the world. The food was good as well. Those who could drink drank a lot. Perhaps I dont usually chill with heavy drinkers so this is really a "kau kau" drinking session. Took off about 9+. One of the Mediacorp girls were kind enough to send me back to my hotel. I reached, showered and opted to sleep but thought that the night was still early and thought of Borders as the only place that opens till 11pm. I took a 15 min walk from the hotel which was good after all the food intake! Reached at nearly 10:30pm thinking that they close at 12am. Obviously it was just a short visit. Got myself a book and walked back.
I dare say that SG is quite safe that I could walk alone but of course my guards were still up high! Not planning to risk anything. After I got back, changed to PJs, slept in. I had a really good sleep thanks to the comfy bed and pillows. Went off to my office in SG, caught up with a few Sales people and headed off for a market visit. Was quite tired by the end of the day as I walked the whole day up and down. My last stop was Taka and being the notti person I am or rather big time sucker to 'material' stuff, I got myself a wallet. Not going to regret what I did as I cant be selling the wallet back to the boutique right? ;)
I walked between Taka and Tangs (not exactly near thx to underpass) to check if there were any price differences or offers they have. Believe me, you might get better deals at times if you have done your due survey. CC, you better thank me hahaha coz I got your Henckel kitchen scissors! I actually went to 2 places to check just to see if both have same deals. Sometimes for brands like WMF, you may get better deals from Tangs which is rather strange. I bought a Brabantia bin from Tangs last Dec and if recalled correctly, can't find similar deal in Taka. I got a Samsonite laptop bag too for a friend :P Then off I went back to the hotel to put in the scissors into my luggage for check in and got myself a cab to the airport.

Jeff's wedding

My best friend invited me way back months ago whilst she was still in New Zealand for her elder bro's wedding this Sept 22nd. I picked her up upon arrival in KLIA on Monday, Sept 17th. The best joke about that was her flight arrived early. I waited somewhere just before the arrival side. Silly law enforcement officers will not allow us to park there for long. Talk about being smart and perhaps save money and time, I ended up wasting so much time.
Secondly I was on my mobile boiling porridge with my friend which I thought was great to kill time. I know I had call waiting so I won't have a problem if there's an incoming call. Sensing something amiss after waiting for almost an hour, I decided to give my best friend's house a call. I text her a few times but still no reply and even tried calling her mobile! Boy was I worried because just the day before, there was this Phuket plane crash.
I called a few friends including UK somemore (thanks CC) to see if can help check on the flight to see if it had landed. After having managed to call her house, her mum picked up and said that my best friend (SAM) had been waiting for more than an hour and that she will be taking the public transport back if I don't show up in the next 10 mins. I found that surprising because I couldn't call her and was in a dilemma deciding whether I should park or not to find her in the airport.
In the end, she managed to call me, *phew* else it will be another waiting nightmare. According to her, she couldn't get through my mobile and went straight to voice mail. Anyways, it all went ok except that it was tired waiting for so long and it was already late.
Wedding was at Sheraton Subang. The best part is I just had the company buka puasa in the same place just the night before. I bumped into a few colleauges as well who happened to be Jeff's (best friend's bro) or his wife's ex colleagues. I believe it was a disappointment in the sense that many tables were not filled. The Grand Selangor Ballroom in Sheraton is really huge and meant to fit at least 100 tables. There are at least 2 tables which were not occupied. It seems that a lot of people promised to come but somehow were not able to attend at the last minute. I hope it all works out well.
Me being vain went to Midvalley to have my make up done at Shu Eumura (have free coupon - trial) and ehehe of course must self praise a bit, look nice la!!! How often I get to do that! It's just that I didnt have time to do my hair so I just quickly tie up half. Enough said, nothing much to update. Dinner was ok. Here's a blurry vision of me and Sam.

Malufying!!

Haiyooo...this is something really embarassing for the whole country. Was thinking of making this known to public via public mediums but I supposed people aren't blind. Honestly there are some people who never really realised. Wei, we are Malaysians la, should know our own national flag better than anyone!

Premonition

Unbelievable! I went with my friend to watch the show. Initially I booked The Invasion and we decided to switch on the spot when I went to claim my bookinga because we were told that it was a bad show. Thinking that we made a smarter choice, boy were we wrong!!! I used to adore Sandra Bullock very much but somehow this really made me think twice. An extremely confusing, draggy movie it was and it didn't help with my stiff neck either.

It was my friend's 3rd lousy movie in th week and it was my 2nd! Somehow we decided to make it a point to still watch The Invasion featuring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig to compare if it was better than Premonition. Then again, one man's poison may be another man's meat.

Can I Get a %$#1 U! - My all time fav song years back!!

Man, I just love You Tube! So many things that you can find there...

This used to be my partying cum dancing song in my younger years!!! :P

Rogue Assassin a.k.a. War

Saw this the next day! Geez crap movie, lots of violence. Somehow halfway wanted to go out shopping! Thank God for explanations to half brilliant person like me. I'm not the only one who didn't exactly get it :P

Plot

During a shootout against Chinese Triads at a dock warehouse, FBI agents John Crawford (Jason Statham) and Tom Lone (Terry Chen) stumble across the notorious assassin Rogue (Jet Li). Rogue, a former CIA assassin who now works for the Japanese Yakuza, ambushes Crawford and is about to execute him, when Lone appears ands shoots Rogue in the face, causing him to fall into the water and disappear. A few days later, Rogue gets his revenge by going to Lone's house, where he shoots Lone in the face, kills Lone's wife and his child in front of him, then kills Lone and burns the house to the ground. Crawford vows revenge on Rogue for the death of his partner.

Three years later, Rogue resurfaces, apparently in the employ of Chinese Triad boss Chang (John Lone). Rogue is assisting Chang against Chang's arch-enemy and Rogue's former employer; the leader of the Japanese Yakuza, Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi). Rogue's task is to recover a pair of antique gold horses, family heirlooms of Chang that were stolen by Shiro many years ago. However, Rogue is secretly setting the Yakuza and the Triads against each other, in order to push the two sides towards all-out war.

Crawford, now the head agent of the FBI's Asia Crime Task Force, is determined to hunt Rogue down and exact revenge for his partner Lone's death. Crawford's pursuit of Rogue has taken a toll on his personal life; he is now separated from his wife, and is so obsessed with his work that he is unable to have a stable family life. Crawford pursues Rogue multiple times in the wake of Rogue's various killing sprees against the Triads and Yakuza, but Rogue always manages to stay one step ahead.
Ultimately, it turns out Rogue has been working for the Yakuza all along, his mission being to gain Chang's trust in order to betray him later. However, Rogue shows reluctance when he is ordered to kill Chang's wife and child as well. Although Rogue does eventually execute Chang, he helps Chang's wife and child escape to safety, and even kills the Yakuza minions sent to help him kill Chang's family.

With Chang dead, Shiro is finally ready to come to America, where he intends to take over Yakuza business operations. However, he is confronted by Crawford and the FBI; Crawford presents Shiro with proof that Rogue has betrayed him and spared Chang's family, but Shiro refuses to assist Crawford in locating Rogue.

Later, Rogue appears to deliver the horses to Shiro personally. Shiro, knowing of Rogue's betrayal, captures Rogue and demands the location of Chang's family. Rogue kills all of Shiro's men, and engages in a sword fight against Shiro himself. Rogue reveals that he is actually FBI agent Tom Lone; after the real Rogue killed Lone's family three years ago, Lone managed to overpower and kill him. Lone then assumed Rogue's identity (aided by their similar facial injuries, and Rogue's known habit of using plastic surgery to disguise himself) in order to get revenge for the death of his family. Rogue/Lone reveals that his actions have all been designed to bring him face-to-face with Shiro, so he could kill the man who ordered the death of his family. Shiro himself reveals that the man responsible is actually Lone's partner John Crawford; Crawford has been working for Shiro all these years, and gave Shiro Lone's identity as an FBI agent as well as his home address. Angered, Rogue disarms and decapitates Shiro.

Rogue then calls Crawford, telling him to meet him at the dock warehouse where it all began three years ago. Crawford goes to the warehouse, where he and Rogue battle each other in an intense hand-to-hand fight. When Rogue reveals his identity as Lone, a devastated Crawford reveals that he only gave Shiro Lone's address because he thought that the Yakuza were only going to beat Lone up to teach him a lesson for shooting Rogue. Crawford says he had no idea Shiro would send Rogue himself to Lone's house to kill him and his family, and asks for forgiveness. Rogue informs Crawford that "Tom is dead, my name is Rogue" and prepares to shoot Crawford. An FBI sniper Crawford brought along as backup appears and prepares to shoot Rogue, but Crawford stops him from firing. Rogue then shoots his former partner in the back and drives off.

Rush Hour 3

I watched this on Independence Day (31st August) and it was a good laugh! Still continues its ability to keep you laughing at your seat! Chris Tucker seems to have piled on a bit of weight. Kenji's dashingly handsome in his own ways! :D

I like the ending where Jacky can't get the Secret Service right and ended up with Seafood and Chris Tucker substituting Buddha for Booty!

Merdeka Post Coverage continued

The first round of pics were merely the preparation before everything started. Here are the presentations from the people on the different eras leadership. Unfortunately I was trying my best to catch good pictures of Tattoo but not one was good. I was told it was a marching band but er not sure why I was looking out and saw that they were like 'Mat Rempits' aka people on bikes!
I'm confused! Oh well CC, you may be disappointed when you read this but here are the pictures for the rest of the nite!

Initially I was told this was "Tattoo" but er it seems more like Mat Rempit to me..

I think this is Tattoo, more like it since it's supposed to be a marching band!

Clearer picture. I like the Wawasan 2020 thingy!

Luckily phone camera 3.2 MP coz it's already not all that clear. Anything under, habis! Anyways, the whole thing ended past 11pm a bit. It was quite short. Started almost 9:30pm.

Merdeka Delayed Coverage

Ahh...finally I can post this. CC, I know you wanted to see this. I only got my cable back therefore could not do over the weekend. My dear friend here was in Norway when we celebrated Merdeka back home. I first went for buffet lunch at Oneworld hotel at 1Utama, a new place to try out. Not that I was aware that it was cheaper. It was such a coincidence that it costs RM50 nett per person for the buffet because it signifies the celebration of the 50th Independence Day! It will cost RM68++ on normal days for lunch, RM80++ for dinner and only on Sunday, brunch for RM50++
My good friend suddenly rang me up and asked if I wanted to go to Stadium Merdeka and I first decline politely because who in the right frame of mind would want to drive to a place where it's packed with people! Oh well, I will leave the juicy details when you get back CC. So obviously I went there and here are some of the pictures taken. The impressive part is where they did all the shows representing each of our leader's era from Tunku Abdul Rahman right up to Pak Lah. If not mistaken, it's a total of 18k+ people practising for that night's event.
Btw, I was waiting for the Tattoo that you text me but ceh....not that happening la!!

Here are pictures prior to any event. I really like the part where people sit at the corner and start changing colors or words they want to say. I dont know whatchamacallit but it's nice!

Wow, time really flies! We are already into the 3rd Quarter of the year! Man, I wonder what have I been doing all these while. To start:

1) Been at my current job fo 6 months now (feels like forever)
2) Still single (must start looking, certainly ain't getting younger)
3) Gaining weight due to lesser dancing and not controlling food intake
4) Enjoying food these days which is NOT good me I supposed
5) Spent too much money going after designer goods (trying to curb already)
6) Paid off quite a fair bit of my debts to dad. About to work on mum's! (Constant reminder to myself - stop spending already!!)
7) Haven't made much effort to keep in touch with my best buddies overseas, one in NZ and the other in SG (just called y'day)

What I must achieve if possible by end 2007:

1) Happy with my job if I'm still there by then (won't know what happens after Nov's review)
2) I can't be desperate and grab anyone
3) Looking toned and good. Got weddings to attend la!!!
4) Try to cut down on dining too much even if I were to learn and experience new food.
5) Curb CURBBBBB expenses!! Maybe I'll spoil myself during Xmas for my last expensive purchase to end the year hehe...
6) Paid off dad and mum's debts!
7) Make a point to send cards at least every other month once or give a text or phone to know that they're remembered
